Island hopping Phuket
Phuket, nestled in the aquamarine waters of the Andaman Sea, is surrounded by some of the most ravishing scenery on the planet. Dense jungles with lush limestone peaks jutting from them punctuate these emerald waters, providing superb options for some Phuket island hopping, one of the most Instagram-friendly things to do in Phuket for travelers wishing to witness this tropical island paradise. A one day trip, Phuket-style, is a fantastic way to explore this heart-stopping landscape, and Pullman Phuket Panwa Beach Resort is the perfect place to arrange a Phuket island hopping package for you. Our lovely resort is a mere 2 kilometers from Panwa Pier on the southern tip of the island, and perfectly situated for your introduction to the beautiful tropical islands around Phuket.
Located just 9 kilometers from Panwa Pier, a Phuket island hopping stop on Maiton Island is just 20 minutes away by speedboat or 45 minutes by catamaran. Maiton is the Andaman Sea’s largest private island, making it the perfect definition of a ‘hideaway not far away. ’
Only a handful of guests are allowed on the island at a time, insuring that Maiton remains an unspoiled natural paradise. Sometimes known as the Maldives of Thailand, Maiton boasts crystal clear water with a whole world under the surface to discover. Maiton Island has a thriving coral sanctuary reaching practically to the shoreline which is home to 400 species of fish and spectacular marine life, including dolphins.
Snorkeling and sailing are big on Maiton Island, with dolphin watching, swimming, beach massages and jungle trekking thrown in for good measure on your most excellent Phuket island hopping tour.
Coral Island (Koh Hae)
Called Koh Hae by the locals, Coral Island lies only 15 minutes, or about six kilometers, from Panwa Pier and could easily be the first stop on your Phuket island hopping adventure. Coral Island is a popular day trip destination for snorkelers and beach lovers, with kayaking in the gin-clear waters also a favorite activity. Two lovely stretches of soft, white sand await the beach lovers – Long Beach, where your boat will likely land, and Banana Beach, a rugged fifteen-minute walk through the jungle from the eastern end of Long Beach.
Feed the many fish that congregate in the clear waters, or swim out to the offshore coral reefs to snorkel with larger fish, including parrotfish, butterfly fish, and trumpet fish. Parasailing, banana boat rides, and massages on the beach are other popular activities, or just relax in a deck chair along the shore after enjoying a meal at one of the beachfront restaurants, all for a reasonable island hopping Phuket price.
Phi Phi Island
Next stop on your Phuket island hopping adventure are the Phi Phi Islands. If you embark from Rassada Pier, just 20 minutes from the hotel, Koh Phi Phi is a 1 hour speed boat ride from Phuket. Koh Phi Phi’s six islands are hands down the most popular day trip from Phuket, with stunning limestone karst formations cloaked in lush foliage that jut straight up from the jade-green sea.
The national park at Koh Phi Phi is famous for iconic sights such as Maya Bay on Koh Phi Phi Ley, the location of the famous film The Beach, and Koh Phi Phi Don, the archipelago’s only inhabited island. Packed with resorts, Phi Phi Don is famous for crab-eating macaques at Monkey Beach and the talcum powder–white sand of Laem Thong. The snorkeling is superb in all the crystal-clear waters that around these beautiful islands.
Phi Phi viewpoint is one of the highpoints of any visit to Phi Phi Don, in more ways than one. From the Reggae Bar, just walk towards Loh Dalum Bay and you’ll see signs for the viewpoint, which has an elevation of 186 meters. It’s a leisurely 30 minute stroll to the top, and well-trodden or paved most of the way. From the viewpoint you’ll see Tonsai Bay on your left and Loh Dalum beach on the right, with those majestic limestone cliffs serving as their striking backdrop.
